Rural Maryland Council and USDA Rural Development to host Regional Rural Broadband Symposium
The Rural Maryland Council in conjunction with USDA Rural Development are set to host their second Regional Rural Broadband Symposium on Wednesday, June 21 st at the Crowne Plaza Annapolis (173 Jennifer Road, Annapolis, Maryland, 21401) from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Speakers for the event include Secretary of Housing & Community Development Jake Day, Comptroller Brooke Lierman, Maryland House of Delegates Speaker Pro Tem Sheree Sample-Hughes, along with a wide variety of experts and stakeholders in the broadband field. The keynote speaker for the event is Joanne Hovis, President of ctc technology & energy. A brief description of the symposium can be found below:
Join RMC and USDA Rural Development to connect with stakeholders interested in broadband access and discuss ways to maximize available funding for rural broadband initiatives. Learn about the latest broadband technologies, funding for broadband infrastructure projects, making your community attractive to providers, and using public-private partnerships for broadband development. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
